N'deye Thiome

Of West African descent and the proud child of immigrants, N'deye is a passionate advocate for equity, civic engagement, and human rights. She earned her Masters of Public Administration (MPA) & Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Dayton, where she developed a strong foundation in political systems, public policy, and research.

Her commitment to advancing social change extends far beyond the classroom. As both a research contributor and intern with several national and international organizations, including Gender Tech Initiative–Uganda, The Gambia's National Human Rights Commission, the Senegambian Study Group, and The Black Audit Project; she has contributed to research and initiatives addressing gender equity in STEM, human rights, governance, diaspora engagement, and sustainable development. Her work has supported publications, policy discussions, community assessments, and advocacy efforts that translate research into meaningful action. These experiences have allowed her to collaborate with scholars, policymakers, and community leaders while strengthening her skills in policy analysis, data collection, stakeholder engagement, and community-based research to advance justice, equity, and human rights.

In the Dayton region, N'deye is an alumna of the Law & Leadership Institute and a Statehouse Civic Scholar, experiences that have strengthened her commitment to public service, civic engagement, and community leadership. She has also played a key role in several community-based research initiatives, including the Dayton Community Collaboratives, where she helped facilitate community conversations that elevated resident voices and identified local priorities. As part of Dayton United for Human Rights' Community Asset Mapping Project, she is helping develop a comprehensive inventory of community strengths, organizations, and resources to support equitable planning and informed decision-making across the Dayton region.

She served as a research contributor to the 2024 Dayton Black Audit Project, the Dayton chapter of the broader Black Audit Project, which examines the lived experiences and well-being of people of African descent using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for assessing equity, opportunity, and quality of life. Through these initiatives, she has helped translate community voices and research into meaningful action that advances human rights and community-driven change.

Grounded in the belief that advocacy, research, and community engagement can drive lasting change, N'deye is committed to advancing initiatives that promote human rights, foster inclusive communities, and create a more just and equitable society.
